NEW YORK, NY and BETHESDA, Md. Mission-critical software provider AdaCore and embedded-software security company CodeSecure have announced a definitive merger agreement, under which the unified company (known as AdaCore) will cover software safety, security, and reliability across critical industries.

IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Symposium (IMS) 2025—SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. RF solution provider Qorvo introduced two high-performance S-Band switched filter bank (SFB) modules designed to meet the rising demand for agile, compact, and efficient radar systems in defense and aerospace applications. Qorvo launched these SFB modules at the IMS 2025 show, underway now in San Francisco. 

PARIS AIR SHOW. Airbus Defense & Space chose Thales to supply the safety satcom system of the A400M military-transport aircraft program, which is a military airlifter that combines the ability to fly to long distances and carry large and heavy loads; the platform therefore needs extended connectivity for ensuring mission success and operational effectiveness.

MONROVIA, Calif. Automated software-testing firm Parasoft reports the release of Parasoft C/C++test 2025.1, an enhanced version of safety-critical compliance software with important enhancements to the company’s flagship static and dynamic testing solution for C and C++ software developers.

PARIS AIR SHOW. Pratt & Whitney (an RTX business) reports that it successfully completed a series of tests on its 3D printed TJ150 turbine wheel, which the company calls a "significant step forward" in its additive manufacturing capabilities, as the turbine wheel is one of the first rotating parts to be 3D printed.

GOLETA, Calif. Semiconductor company Aeluma, Inc. announced a contract with the U.S. Navy that could accelerate development of high-speed photodetectors for government and commercial applications.

PARIS AIR SHOW. Curtiss-Wright announced at the now-underway Paris Air Show that it won a $31 million ID/IQ contract with the U.S. Navy to supply airborne mission processors (AMPs) for the Triton uncrewed aerial system (UAS). 

PARIS AIR SHOW. Pratt & Whitney (an RTX business) announced at the Paris Air Show that it signed a contract with Dynetics (a Leidos company) to supply TJ150 engines that will be integrated with the Leidos "Black Arrow" small cruise missile. 

NEW YORK. The electronic warfare (EW) market, recorded at $18.53 billion in 2024, is expected to reach $34.10 billion by 2031, experiencing a combined annual growth rate (CAGR) of 9.4% during that time span, according to a report from The Insight Partners, "Electronic Warfare Market Segments and Growth by 2031." 

LINKÖPING, Sweden and SAN DIEGO, Calif. Saab and General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Inc. (GA-ASI) announced that the two companies will cooperate on the development of an uncrewed airborne early warning (UAEW) solution, to be based on the GA-ASI MQ-9B uncrewed aerial system (UAS). 

SYLMAR, Calif.  Military-display manufacturer IEE is moving into the production phase of its contract with L3Harris that calls for IEE to deliver hundreds of 3ATI electronic warfare (EW) multi-function displays (MFDs).

AUSTIN, Tex. Ultra I&C will provide the U.S. Army with its Archer troposcatter system under a new contract aimed at getting Archer into the hands of Army soldiers for training and evaluation in an effort to enhance network resiliency by adding an additional form of secure communications. 

ANDOVER, Mass. Raytheon (an RTX business) reports that it signed an agreement with the U.S. Navy worth $646 million to continue producing AN/SPY-6(V) radars for Navy ships; this is the fourth option exercised from the March 2022 hardware, production and sustainment contract that is valued up to $3 billion over five years.

NEW YORK. Mobile-networking company Persistent Systems announced that its Wave Relay devices gained approval from the National Security Agency (NSA) as IPsec VPN Gateway and MACsec components.

ARLINGTON, Va. In a series of recent tests held at the U.S. Army White Sands Missile Range, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Persistent Optical Wireless Energy Relay (POWER) program reported setting several new records for transmitting power over distance, with the POWER team recording more than 800 watts of power delivered during a 30-second transmission from a laser situated 8.6 kilometers (5.3 miles) away; over the course of the test campaign, more than a megajoule of energy was transferred.

GREENLAWN, N.Y. BAE Systems won a $30 million contract with the U.S. Navy to refresh the AN/APX-123A(V) Common Transponder (CXP), which is intended to enhance the system's cybersecurity and interoperability and support the latest U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) standards.

TUCSON, Ariz. Raytheon (an RTX business) won a contract worth $1.1 billion contract from the U.S. Navy to produce AIM-9X Block II missiles.

CAMBRIDGE, U.K. Blighter launched what it says is its longest-range smart border-surveillance radar system,  which can detect a person 15 km (9.3 miles) away using only 4 W of power, or the same amount of juice needed to power a cellphone or an LED bulb.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. Ametek Abaco Systems introduced the GRA117SVIO, an Open VPX 3U video graphics and GPGPU card aligned with the Sensor Open Systems Architecture, or SOSA, Technical Standard.
